Philippe Clement can save his job at Rangers if he takes a chance on Hamza Igamane as part of his starting line-up.

The 22-year-old proved his abilities in the Gers 4-1 win against Nice and his performance leaves the boss with little excuse not to take a chance on him.

As Clement’s side prepare to face St Johnstone on Sunday [1 December], they will be eager to use their momentum to give them a much-needed result in the league.

Hamza Igamane has to be given a try for Rangers in the league

Although he hasn’t been able to score in any of his league appearances so far, the forward has only been given two top-flight starts this season which could be inflicting on his ability to have a proper impact.

His display in the Europa League showed he can do it and his two goals and one assist means his manager has no excuse not to start him as his side return to league action.

It’s clear that something needs to change at Ibrox and although Cyriel Dessers has four league goals this season, a seven-game run without scoring shows confidence may be low in the 29-year-old.

In addition to this, when the striker came on in his side’s Europa League game, the most he showed in front of the goal was missing a chance he really should’ve put away.

Although the Gers boss may want to stand by his experienced man in league action, questions continue to be asked about his future and surely a change has to be made now.

Igamane has shown he has the ability and the introduction of young legs into the starting line-up could be the boost that his side needs and at this stage, it feels like the boss has to at least give it a try.

In other Rangers news, this incredible moment from the game against Nice left Kris Boyd in hysterics live on Sky Sports.
