Ange Postecoglou will be absolutely buzzing as Dane Scarlett continues to impress away from Tottenham this season.

The 20-year-old striker endured a difficult start to the 2024/25 campaign, struggling to get into Des Buckingham’s starting XI at Oxford United.

However, the manager will find it increasingly hard to find a reason not to include Scarlett in the team as the U’s strive to avoid relegation straight back down to League One.

If the Tottenham loanee continues to prove himself on the pitch, Oxford United will have no difficulty in finding the back of the net, with Mark Harris also showing his credentials in the Championship.

Having scored in back-to-back matches against West Brom and Derby County, helping to earn a point in each game, he has now netted off the bench against Swansea City on Saturday 2 November.

Dane Scarlett strikes again as Tottenham loanee continues to star

While the U’s will be disappointed to lose 2-1 at home, Spurs will be focusing on just how well Scarlett is dealing with his loan move to the Kassam Stadium this season.

Any young star could have wilted after being left out of the squad on so many occasions, but the 20-year-old striker has taken the challenge in his strive and proven himself on the pitch.

The forward has just 16 senior appearances for the Lilywhites during his time in North London, so the end goal will obviously be to break into Postecoglou’s set-up. He is clearly heading in the right direction.

With the likes of Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear gaining experience in the first team, it will take a special talent to grab a spot on the bench, but Scarlett is proving he has what it takes for Spurs.
