Philippe Clement’s squad has been savaged by injuries as Rangers struggle to gain a foothold in the Scottish Premiership.

With Oscar Cortes, Rabbi Matondo and Tom Lawrence already in the treatment room, they have been joined by Neraysho Kasanwirjo, who could now be sidelined for months.

The likes of Ridvan Yilmaz and Danilo have also spent time out of the Gers squad due to injury while Dujon Sterling has failed to remain fit for consecutive games.

These have left James Tavernier playing the bulk of games at right-back, much to the displeasure of the Ibrox faithful, with many fans wanting him out of the starting XI and on the bench.

Considering these setbacks, the transfer interest in bringing Nathan Patterson back to Ibrox makes incredible sense, with Everton open to loaning the player out in January [Daily Mail].

It is understood that despite the Toffees’ stance ahead of the window, they are unlikely to consider offers from Scotland, and Sean Dyche has just doubled down on that.

Nathan Patterson to Rangers a no-go after Sean Dyche comments

Speaking in a recent press conference, quoted by The Herald, Dyche responded to the links: “Who’s reporting? Who? Tell me. Who? Name them. Oh online, okay, must be right then. Yeah, we will decide what happens with the players here.”

That is a pretty damning response to reports linking a player with a move away, especially when some of those links are to the club that sold him for £12million in January 2022 [Sky Sports].

The 23-year-old has struggled with injuries since leaving Scotland but recently came on as a substitute during Everton’s 4-0 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday 2 December.

Undoubtedly, Patterson would have been a decent transfer option during the January window, but with Dyche’s recent comments, that move now looks completely off the table.

In other Rangers news, Kris Boyd and Chris Sutton clashed live on Sky Sports before the 1-0 win against St Johnstone.
