Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen have been working tirelessly to complete a rebuild of the Rangers squad ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
One of the biggest concerns after last season was the club’s main source of goals, with right-back James Tavernier finishing as the top scorer in all competitions once again.
While Cyriel Dessers managed to notch 22 goals in all competitions during his first season in Scotland, the Nigerian international was slated throughout the campaign for his all-round play.
With Danilo now returning from injury, and Hamza Igamane joining from FAR Rabat earlier this summer, the Gers have quite a few options in the final third but that has not stopped the transfer links at Ibrox.
Rangers are eager to bring Albion Rrahmani to Ibrox this summer, according to Football Scotland, with several clubs said to be interested in the 23-year-old’s signature.
While former Celtic boss Neil Lennon is keen to keep the young striker, the most recent update could suggest that the Romanian side are preparing for the worst outcome.
Albion Rrahmani transfer still alive for Rangers
Rrahmani was nowhere to be seen as Rapid were condemned to a 1-0 defeat by Petrolul Ploiesti, and while his absence was explained by not being fully fit, the “unofficial” reason is that the club are braced for more bids [Sorin Chiriac].
The 23-year-old is an extremely exciting forward, with 18 goals in 28 appearances for the Romanian club since last summer, even earning five international caps with Kosovo.
While the links between Rangers and Celtic could be seen as an issue, with Lennon now manager of Rapid, if the Scottish side can submit the right offer, it may be one that can’t be turned down.
If the Gers want to pip their Old Firm rivals to the Scottish Premiership title next season, they will need as much firepower in the squad as possible.
With little movement on Hearts’ Lawrence Shankland, Rrahmani could be the next-best option for Clement’s side.
In other Rangers news, Keith Jackson has shared a new prediction for the Gers ahead of the Scottish Premiership season.
