View: Robert Vilahamn boost as Tottenham Women complete WSL loan signing

Tottenham Women have signed Katelin Talbert on loan from West Ham United Women.

It was announced via the club’s official website on Saturday (7 September) that Talbert has joined Spurs on loan until the end of December 2024.

The 25-year-old joined West Ham United from Benfica Women in August 2023.

She spent last season on loan with Swedish side Djurgardens IF, where she made 14 appearances in all competitions in Damallsvenskan.

Her arrival represents another experienced addition to the squad as Robert Vilahamn looks to push on in North London during the upcoming campaign.

Talbert has previous experience in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, having played in the competition for Benfica.

That experience could prove useful to the Spurs squad as they look to push for a Champions League place this season following their sixth-placed finish in the Barclays Women’s Super League last time out.

Talbert will likely rotate with Rebecca Spencer following the recent departure of Barbora Votíková.

Spencer established herself as the number one last season, playing 16 times in the WSL as well as starting in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley (12 May).

Although Spurs were beaten 4-0 by Manchester United Women, Spencer still managed to make four saves from inside the box and complete 88 per cent of her passes (Sofascore).

The 33-year-old will likely remain the club’s number one, but Talbert will no doubt keep her on her toes in North London.

In other Tottenham news, Ange Postecoglou will be concerned about one player at the club after what happened recently.
