Daniel Levy has once again upset supporters after ticketing details emerged for UEFA Europa League games with Roma and Elfsborg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Levy is no stranger to upsetting fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
While it is hard to deny the Spurs chairman’s brilliance when it comes to turning the club into a commercial powerhouse, it would be fair to suggest that this is often done at the expense of supporters.
And that has once again been proven to be the case after the club announced ticketing details for games with Roma (28 November) and Elfsborg (30 January) via their official website on Friday (25 October).
Tottenham announced that tickets for the Roma fixture will be priced equivalent to their Category C fixtures. This means that the cheapest adult ticket will be £38, while the majority of sections in the stadium will have tickets priced between £48 and £62.
Meanwhile, season ticket holders will be automatically charged for both the Roma and Elfsborg matches on 30 October, which is three months before the Elfsborg match takes place.
And according to Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust, this has left fans “furious.”
THSTOfficial wrote via X on Sunday (27 October), “We have this evening contacted @SpursOfficial to ask further questions of its @EuropaLeague pricing for the game against @OfficialASRoma and the on-sale dates for season ticket holders and members for the game against @IFElfsborg1904.
“With regards to the FC Elfsborg game on January 30, 2025. Many season ticket holders are correctly furious with the Club’s plans to place tickets on sale three months before the game on October 30. Many are now following advice on how to cancel automatic payments for both games – see our earlier tweet.”
Tottenham supporters fuming with Daniel Levy after ticketing announcements
While some Roma tickets will be available for £38, that is a small minority. Plenty of supporters will be paying between £48 and £62, which is an extraordinary amount of money for a Europa League league fixture.
Therefore, those fans are right to be absolutely fuming with Levy and Spurs. In addition, putting tickets on sale for a game at the end of January at the end of October is truly absurd.
It does not consider supporters who might need more time to figure out their arrangements and is once again an example of the club capitalising on fans’ unwavering loyalty to make some money.
As a result, fans would likely love to see the back of Levy, something which could actually be moving closer to reality amid ongoing investment speculation.
However, for now, it appears as though supporters will have to continue tolerating the unpopular chairman.
In other Tottenham news, the North London club and Chelsea both want to sign an Arsenal player in a multi-million transfer.
