Jessica Naz could emerge as a standout player for Tottenham Women and Robert Vilahamn this season.

Vilahamn enjoyed a productive first campaign in the Barclays Women’s Super League and recently put pen to paper on a brand-new contract with the club which will run until 2027 (via Tottenham Hotspur, 23 July).

He will therefore be keen to continue building this season and Naz could prove to be key in helping the Swede do that.

After becoming a Tottenham centurion last season, Naz spoke via the club’s official website (4 August) about her feelings ahead of the upcoming campaign.

The forward said, “I’m really excited! We did so well last season and I think that’s just the start of something new so we will just keep progressing and working hard, I think we can definitely do something special this season as well.

“I had a really good campaign last term, so it will be trying to do even better for the new season but, for me, it will be important to just keep playing and being confident on the ball, helping to get more goals for the team.”

Jessica Naz set for a big season with Tottenham Women?

Naz featured in every one of Spurs’ WSL games last season and scored seven goals in all competitions, her highest return in a single season during her career thus far.

Her form saw her receive a maiden call-up to the senior England Women’s team, and she was handed her senior international debut against the Republic of Ireland Women during a 2-1 victory for the Lionesses (12 July).

Naz scored three WSL goals and provided four assists in the competition last season, while also completing 16 successful dribbles (FotMob).

In addition, her 75 per cent long-ball accuracy put her in the top 16 per cent of her positional peers. She also ranked in the top 25 per cent of fellow WSL forwards for the number of times she won possession in the final third, 19.

Jessica Naz will be keen to kick on with Tottenham Women

There is still plenty of room for Naz to develop at the age of 23 and she will no doubt be hopeful to do that next season.

In other Tottenham news, one player could be sold by the club amid an “underwhelming” pre-season.
