Plymouth Argyle manager Wayne Rooney has taken to social media for the first time following reports suggesting he is at risk of being sacked.
According to the Guardian, the 39-year-old is under “heightened scrutiny” following a “hugely damaging” run of results at the Championship club.
Plymouth were meant to play Oxford United on Saturday (December 7) but the game was postponed due to the bad weather caused by Storm Darragh.
Rooney’s side are winless in their last four league games, sitting in the relegation zone ahead of their game with Swansea on Tuesday (December 10).

The South Coast club holds the worst defensive record in the Championship under Rooney, conceding 38 goals in 18 games and allowing three or more goals on four separate occasions.
The Man United legend remains committed to the club, however, posting a recent collaboration with BBC’s The One Show on Instagram, giving fan Elsbeth Hallam a day to remember.
The heartwarming caption says: “After caring for her son, Henry, during his treatment for cancer, Elsbeth Hallam was inspired to help other families.
“To thank her, we enlisted football superstar @waynerooney to help us give the @only1argyle super fan a #OneBigThankYou surprise.”
