Wenham issues Tottenham 'Frustration' amid 'Phenomenal' Arsenal claim ahead of Sunday

John Wenham claims the North London derby is a “must-win” match for Tottenham.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose still believes it will be “incredibly difficult” for Ange Postecoglou’s side to claim maximum points.

Spurs will host Arsenal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (15 September) in the first North London derby of the season.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels as though the encounter will be tight.

“We have four points in the Premier League, but really we should have nine based on the performances so far,” Wenham said.

“That is a big frustration and is also why this Arsenal game is a must-win.

“However, getting three points from this match will be incredibly difficult. Arsenal have only conceded three times away from home in the Premier League in 2024, which is a phenomenal statistic.

“However, two of those goals did come at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last season, and it arguably could have been more. Therefore, this game will be decided on tight margins.”

Spurs have lost their last two home North London derbies against Arsenal. Therefore, Postecoglou and his players will be desperate to prevent a third consecutive defeat.

They were blown away in the first half last season, heading into the break 3-0 down, but clawed their way back into the match and almost managed to snatch a draw, eventually losing 3-2.

If they can avoid a slow start like last season, and have a bit of luck go their way, there is no reason why Tottenham can’t get one over on their fiercest rivals.
