Wenham moots Tottenham plans for brand-new signing after 'Outstanding' transfer confirmed

John Wenham has expressed his delight after Tottenham confirmed the signing of 18-year-old Yang Min-Hyeok.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose is keen for the club to continue adding “outstanding” young players to Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

Tottenham confirmed via the club’s official website (28 July) that they had signed Min-Hyeok from K League 1 side Gangwon FC, with the forward set to join the club in January 2025.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has speculated what Spurs’ plans might be for the youngster.

“Min-Hyeok is another outstanding talent at that age level,” Wenham said.

“I want the club to continue adding those players to what Postecoglou has already got. It follows the recent trend with the likes of Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray being signed.

“Therefore, welcome to the club Min-Hyeok. It was fantastic to see him play against us in pre-season. I imagine when he arrives in January, he will play with the under-21s.

“That will allow him to settle into English football and then Tottenham can take it from there.”

Very few supporters are likely to have heard or seen much of Min-Hyeok. However, they are also unlikely to have heard or seen much of Destiny Udogie or Pape Matar Sarr before they arrived in North London.

In addition, the likes of Bergvall and Gray are already making an impact in pre-season. Therefore, this suggests that Tottenham know what they are doing when it comes to scouting and signing talented young players.

As a result, supporters will be keen to see what Min-Hyeok can do.

And if Spurs can get things right, they could end up building a very impressive team under Postecoglou over the coming years.
