Wenham names two ‘Quality’ Tottenham U18s ready to step up in North London

John Wenham believes Tottenham Under-18 duo Yusuf Akhamrich and Damola Ajayi will feature frequently for the Under-21s next season.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose claims several Under-21 players could leave the club on loan this summer.

Akhamrich and Ajayi both came on during the 3-1 Premier League 2 play-off final victory over Sunderland Under-21s at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (26 May).

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels the pair are ready to claim Under-21 spots of their own next season.

“Quite a few Under-21 players will likely leave on loan next season, but that’s fine,” Wenham said.

“I don’t see that weakening the squad because of the quality of the younger players ready to move up.

“I think Ajayi and Akhamrich will both be regulars for the Under-21s next season and rightly so.”

Spurs’ Under-21s enjoyed a sensational season.

After finishing top of the Premier League 2, the youngsters went on to win the play-off stages of the competition.

A lot of talent has emerged, and as a result, there will be a lot of loan interest in those players this summer.

However, with Under-18 players ready to fill the spots left behind, it offers Ange Postecoglou a reason to feel excited about the future.

He has already handed first-team debuts to Jamie Donley and Mikey Moore because of their impressive form.

And it looks as if he could have a few more talented youngsters cropping up on his radar next season.
