West Ham fans say the same thing about Pablo Fornals after shock reveal

West Ham fans have labeled former midfielder Pablo Fornals as an ‘adopted Cockney’ after the Spaniard spoke about his time in East London.

Fornals left the East Londoners for Real Betis back in January 2024 for £6.8million after spending four and a half years at the club.

Speaking to The Athletic, the 28-year-old spoke about the Premier League club in glowing terms and insisted current manager Julen Lopetegui needs time to be a success.

When asked about his relationship with the club, the midfielder said, “I watch every match. If it clashes with my games, I watch the highlights.

“My son loves West Ham and always does the Irons sign. The other day we played Getafe and he wanted to wear a West Ham shirt, instead of the Real Betis jersey!”

It’s been an underwhelming start to life at the club for Lopetegui, sitting in 12th after winning two, drawing two, and losing three of their opening seven Premier League games.

Still, Fornals believes he can be a success, saying, “I hope he does well. Right now it’s a process because the players have played a certain way for five years under David Moyes.

“So new coaching methods under a new manager take time.”

Pablo Fornals dearly missed at West Ham

Much like Lopetugui, Fornals has struggled so far this season and is yet to make a single goal contribution in 11 appearances across all competitions.

After the interview, Hammers fans took to X, formally known as Twitter, to let Fornals know just how much he is missed at the club.
