John Wenham wants Tottenham to start Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear in the club’s remaining UEFA Europa League league fixtures.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose claims the experience of starting in some of Spurs’ bigger Europa League league matches would benefit Moore and Lankshear.

Both players were handed their first starts for Tottenham in the club’s most recent European outing, as the North London side recorded a 2-1 win over Ferencváros at the Groupama Arena (3 October).

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – is keen for that trend to continue.

“I want Moore and Lankshear to start each of these six matches we have left in the initial phase of the Europa League,” Wenham said.

“Could you imagine the experience that would give them? Starting away against the likes of Galatasaray and Rangers.

“That would be fantastic long-term experience banked for the pair of them. Hopefully, it happens.”

Tottenham to start Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear in the remaining Europa League matches?

Ange Postecoglou might be hesitant to start Moore and Lankshear in some of Spurs’ tougher European fixtures. However, the long-term benefits could be huge.

Spurs look comfortable in the Europa League after winning their opening two matches. As a result, they will feel confident of qualifying.

Therefore, they might be able to afford to play some youngsters in the competition.

It would also offer some of their bigger players much-needed rest amid a busy fixture schedule. As a result, that might help Postecoglou avoid further injuries, which have somewhat disrupted Spurs’ start to the season.

Moore in particular has been making a big impression and might already feel as though he is ready for these types of matches.

In other Tottenham news, the club have submitted a “big-money” bid to seal a new striker signing.
