Pundit tells Clement to not treat Rangers fans like 'Fools' after Danilo 'Riddles'

Craig Moore has told Philippe Clement that he can’t treat Rangers supporters like “fools” after new developments around Danilo.

The Brazilian is yet to feature for the Light Blues in a competitive fixture this season, despite being named on the bench for all four of the Gers’ opening matches so far this term.

Clement has insisted that the Brazilian is fit but not yet up to match speed and while Go Radio pundit Moore appreciates that may be true, he has slammed the manager for talking in “riddles”.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show (15 August, 47:00) he said: “The only way he’s going to get his match minutes, is by giving him match minutes.

“For me, it’s in riddles a little bit the selection process. The manager, that’s why he’s paid the big money but at the same time, you’re there to be questioned when you’re kind of seeing these scenarios.

“I think he’s a good player, he looked like he was starting to find his feet before he got his injuries. Is he going to be a prolific goalscorer? I never got that feeling even when I was getting the earlier signs so there’s a lot of hard work that lies ahead.

“For me, I loved Clement at the start because he was really easy to understand, it was very direct, it was very assured and it was uncomplicated.

“But I just feel recently, he’s been talking a little bit around in circles and sometimes that can trip you up.

“I just feel as though at this moment in time we’re all seeing that Rangers are not firing on all cylinders and players aren’t performing.

“We understand that the money may not be there in terms of the players coming in, but you can’t treat people like fools. People are watching the games.”

Is Danilo fit to play for Rangers after Philippe Clement update?

Danilo’s fitness has been a topic of discussion for several weeks now. The Brazilian appeared to be closing in on a full return during pre-season but he has not even made a cameo in a competitive future.

Fans are well within their rights to question why the striker wasn’t introduced when the Light Blues were being held at 1-1 at Tynecastle or why Robin Propper was instead subbed on as a striker when the Gers were trailing to Dynamo Kyiv.

The manager isn’t giving the fanbase clear answers as Moore suggests and unless that changes, the supporters are going to become increasingly frustrated to the point that they will lose patience with the Belgian.

Hopefully, Danilo will be involved in some capacity against St Johnstone on Saturday (17 August) to finally get some minutes under his belt.

If he remains rooted to the bench again, Clement is going to have to face further questioning.
