Man United fans believe former Barcelona boss Xavi is the “perfect” person to replace Erik ten Hag as manager.

The 20-time champions sacked the 54-year-old on Monday (28 October) off the back of their latest defeat at the hands of West Ham.

United currently sit 14th in the Premier League table after the opening nine games, while they find themselves 21st in the Europa League after failing to win any of their opening three matches.

The Premier League giants have confirmed that former striker Ruud van Nistelrooy will temporarily take charge of the club, with United set to face Leicester City in the EFL Cup on Wednesday before a visit from Chelsea on Sunday in the league.

Ten Hag guided United to their lowest-ever Premier League finish last season as the club sat eighth, but the club’s hierarchy stuck with him after winning the FA Cup.

The Dutchman averaged 1.84 points per game during his 128 matches, but he has been under mounting pressure this season due to United’s poor performances.

Man United fans believe Xavi could be the answer to their problems

Xavi has been out of work since May when he was relieved of his duties by Barcelona, but many United supporters believe that he would be the ideal next appointment.

The former Spain international has managed 102 games throughout his career and boasts a 69.6% win percentage.
