'Absolutely Huge' - Sky Sports man issues 'Scary' Clement verdict after Rangers v Celtic

Kris Boyd believes that the gulf between Rangers and Celtic is absolutely huge after the Hoops won the Old Firm derby 3-0 on 1 September.

The Sky Sports pundit also namedropped Philippe Clement and said that he’s lucky and unlucky at the same time.

The Belgian’s side were outplayed by their arch rivals at Celtic Park and have taken a significant lead in the table.

Boyd told the Scottish Sun’s YouTube channel: “You knew you knew coming into it it was going to happen and that’s the scary thing about it. You just felt as if Rangers were sleepwalking.

“You know what what happened at Celtic Park yesterday, the gulf between the two teams on the pitch right now is absolutely huge and you know you only need to go back a few months ago when it was the Scottish Cup final and a lot of people left that ground saying that um you know they felt as if Rangers were the best team.

“Philippe Clement, lucky or unlucky, however you want to look at it.

“Lucky, the fact that you might get time to build a new squad. Unlucky, the fact that he’s had to get rid of a lot of players but you just get the feeling that there’s just so much um negativity lying around right now and I know people are saying but you’re adding to it.

“My job is to call it out the way it looks for me my opinion is that you know Rangers right now um there’s no structure there’s nothing.”

Rangers fans are absolutely livid with everything surrounding the club

Boyd’s candid assessment of the Old Firm divide following the 3-0 defeat at Celtic Park highlights a stark reality that has shocked many fans.

His comments on Clement’s tenure, suggesting he’s both lucky for potentially having time to rebuild and unlucky due to the extensive squad overhaul, underscores the turmoil at the club.

The defeat not only widens the gap in the league standings but also in perceived team quality and strategy.

Fans have every right to be furious as their frustration stems from witnessing what they perceive as a lack of competitiveness, poor squad planning and a visible disparity in on-pitch performance against their rivals.

Boyd’s remarks, coming from a former player, add weight to the criticism, fueling fan discontent towards the management, players and board for what appears to be a lack of direction and immediate solutions to bridge this alarming gulf.

If things continue like this, the SPFL might just become a one-horse race and there’s nothing that Gers fans would want less.

In other Rangers news, a unique offer was made to a first-team player on transfer deadline day and a revelation has now emerged.
