Adam Idah: Hutton delivers instant reaction to Celtic deal

Celtic will have pulled off a brilliant signing if they complete a deal for Norwich City striker Adam Idah this week.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, ex-Scotland international Alan Hutton fully expects Idah, 23, to make the move to Celtic Park.

Idah has been Celtic’s number one target this summer as they seek to bolster their forward line after his impressive loan spell in which he scored nine goals in 19 appearances and now looks set to join the club permanently.

Football Insider revealed (August 13) that the two clubs have reached a full agreement for Idah over a deal worth £8.5m plus £1m of add-ons and the striker is set to undergo his medical.

The Scottish champions currently rely on Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi as their only senior forward option.

Alan Hutton backs Adam Idah to be Celtic success

The Republic of Ireland international only managed to score 17 goals in 115 appearances for Norwich City but has seemingly found his feet at Celtic.

“I feel it will come”, Hutton told Football Insider.

“There are still a number of weeks left in the transfer window, I believe the rumours are starting to circle again.

“I thought he came in last season and did really well in January, he gives them (Celtic) a different kid of profile up-front instead of just Kyogo (Furuhashi).

“I think they need someone to come in who can bounce off Kyogo and take a little bit of pressure off of him.

“So, I think he is the guy and I think it probably will happen in the next couple of weeks.

“He knows what it’s all about now to play for Celtic, he knows what the fans are like, he knows what it’s like to win trophies, and they’re in the Champions League.

“I expect this one to happen.”
