It’s safe to say that Lamine Yamal has defied all expectations in the first 12 months of his senior career. He was one of Barcelona’s best players last season, and this summer, he played a major role in Spain’s Euro 2024 success, scooping the Young Player of the Tournament award in the process.
Because of this, Lamine Yamal’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is seeking to have the 17-year-old sensation’s salary adjusted with immediate effect, as reported by Sport. Barcelona have a private agreement in place to extend the teenager’s contract until 2030 – his current deal officially runs until 2026, but that will be extended automatically upon expiry – but Mendes wants the wage increase brought forward.
Jorge Mendes has asked Barcelona to make an effort for Lamine after his explosion in world football. He wants the club to readjust his contract. President Laporta knows this and would have promised an economic effort capable of satisfying all parties. @tomasandreu68

Barcelona president Joan Laporta is happy to oblige, despite the club’s economic problems. He intends to make the required adjustment that will suit all parties.
Laporta and Mendes have a close relationship, and the super-agent is in charge of many Barcelona players, including some of their top La Masia talents. It’s no surprise that he wants to keep the Portuguese happy, and that’s especially the case when it comes to Lamine Yamal.
