Man United academy product Angel Gomes has fuelled talk of a sensational return to his old club after posting a video of him meeting Nani.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a move back to Man United after making his England debut under interim manager Lee Carsley against the Republic of Ireland.
The attacking midfielder is out of contract at French club Lille at the end of the season and would be able to talk with foreign clubs over a free transfer from January 1st.
Angel Gomes fuels Man United rumours after Nani meeting
Gomes has established himself as a key player for Lille since joining the club from the 20-time Premier League champions back in 2020, scoring eight goals in 120 appearances.
The now-England international met Nani at Lille’s Champions League tie against Sporting Lisbon, the club where the ex-Man United winger started his career.
Gomes took to Instagram to share a video of the two meeting, thanking Nani for ‘always supporting’ him.
Unfortunately for Gomes, it wasn’t his best night in a Lille shirt – he received a second yellow card for a late, clumsy challenge on Sporting star man Viktor Gyokeres after just 40 minutes.
It’s been a tricky start to the season for Lille, sitting in eighth after losing their last two Ligue 1 games to PSG and Saint-Etienne.
