Arsenal Exclusive: Significant update on Aaron Ramsdale future today

Aaron Ramsdale is “breaking the door down” in his attempts to leave Arsenal before 31 August, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the 26-year-old remains keen on a move away from the Emirates this summer despite a lack of movement so far.

Ajax are the latest club to express an interest in signing the goalkeeper, while Wolves have been credited with an interest this summer.

Football Insider revealed on 10 August that Gary O’Neill’s side are plotting a late move amid speculation over the future of Jose Sa.

Sources say Rasmdale has grown tired of sitting on the bench and is desperate to leave the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta brought David Raya to the club on loan last year, and they have now made that move permanent after he established himself as the firm first choice.

As a result, Ramsdale featured just 11 times last season, and only six came in the Premier League.

He has been assessing his options since the summer transfer window opened, but is growing more desperate for a move away as it edges closer to the end.

Reports have now claimed Wolves are now willing to entertain offers for Sa, which would allow them to focus on Ramsdale’s arrival.

Ajax, meanwhile, are keen on signing a new goalkeeper to strengthen their squad after finishing fifth last season, while they have not adequately replaced Andre Onana since his move to Manchester United in 2023.

Ramsdale is also said to be determined to make the most of England’s managerial change and wants to prove he can push Jordan Pickford for the number-one spot.
