William Saliba has gone down an interesting road at Arsenal to get to where is now.
The centre-back signed for Arsenal in 2019 as a fresh-faced teenager when Unai Emery was in charge, but it wasn’t until the 2022/23 Premier League season that he would make his debut.
The powers that be at the London club, including manager Mikel Arteta, felt that it was right for Saliba to spend several spells out on loan.
That did him the world of good because, fast forward to the present, and Saliba is now one of the best defenders in the world.
Yes, Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title yet, but the feeling is that they are closer than ever, with their star centre-back playing a huge role.
But the worry for the Gooners is the noise around the France international, especially in the transfer market.
There are suggestions that Real Madrid are interested in Saliba, with Darren Bent admitting that the champions of Europe usually get who they want.
The former Premier League striker added that it’s ‘very rare’ for Real Madrid to ‘properly go after a player’ and then not get them.
But whilst Arsenal fans worry at the prospect of the Spanish giants knocking on the door for their ball-playing centre-back, Bent feels there is another player to ‘worry’ about too.
Bukayo Saka was the name put forward by Arsenal fan Bent and what might stop them from ‘not going anywhere’, as he told talkSPORT.
Worry about Bukayo Saka leaving Arsenal along with William Saliba
“Real Madrid, it’s very rare they go after a player, like properly go after a player, and don’t get them,” said Bent.
“Usually, they do their homework, maybe a couple of years in advance. It’s a concern, it has to be.
“Saka is another one you worry about, but I think as long as Arsenal keep progressing, keep winning trophies, then they are not going anywhere.”
Can Bukayo Saka become a one-club man?
It’s rare in today’s game for players to become one-club men, with more money across teams that stops that from happening.
Saka has been a one-club man so far and you can’t see him going anywhere anytime soon, regardless of who knocks on the door.

It might be a different story for Saliba, but this is Saka’s club, his boyhood team and there is that extra connection there.
Saka has to win the Premier League title with Arsenal, it would be a crying shame if he didn’t because his qualities are deserving of it.
