But Arsenal will be hoping they are able to make some ground up on the title race as a win could potentially see the Gunners end the weekend in second.
Arsene Wenger may regret selling Ashley Cole, but it seems as if the defender’s loyalties to his former side are well and truly gone with his latest comments.
Ashley Cole shares Arsenal title prediction
Arsenal have come close to winning the Premier League title over the last couple of years but have been unable to get over the line.
Gary Neville still thinks Arsenal can win the title but it seems as if the former Arsenal left-back, Cole, does not agree at all.
Speaking to a fan during the latest England camp, Cole was captured on a TikTok video sharing his thoughts on Arsenal’s title chances.
“Who’s gonna win the league? I’m going to go Liverpool,” Cole replied to the young fan at St George’s Park.
“Yeah, I think they [Arsenal] have mucked it up, haven’t they? It’s tough.”
Having left the Gunners for around £5m, Cole has remained a divisive figure among Arsenal fans after joining their London rivals.
Already this year, Cole admitted he wants to rejoin Chelsea having taken his post-career into coaching.
Ashley Cole previous took Mikel Arteta swipe at Arsenal
Bukayo Saka has now been able to play under Cole who was part of Lee Carsley’s interim coaching lineup following Gareth Southgate’s departure.
However, the former Arsenal defender has issued some damning comments on Mikel Arteta’s usage of Saka in the past.
“As Jamie [Redknapp] says, [he’s] a shining light in this Arsenal team. He plays with courage, [he’s] fearless at times,” he told Sky Sports back in 2020.
“As a manager, you love it because he’s adaptable and he can play in three or four positions, which is brilliant. But I feel for him at times because I think he’s kind of used and abused.”
Cole is a big fan of Saka and has hailed him a lot over the years, but there is clearly a feeling that Arsenal’s recent slip-ups in the league may have already cost them a shot at the title.
