Aston Villa set sights on signing Bryan Mbeumo - report

Man City and Arsenal are among five Premier League clubs reportedly keen on signing Brentford forward Bryan Mbuemo.

Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United are all also keeping tabs on the 25-year-old this season.

According to HITC, Mbeumo is not in a rush to extend his contract with Brentford despite the club’s desire to.

The striker has two years left on his deal at the Gtech Community Stadium, and the club did reject a £25million bid for him in the summer from Nottingham Forest.

Mbeumo has scored nine goals in each of his last two seasons, becoming an important member in Brentford’s team.

The Cameroon international has scored 67 goals in 250 games throughout his career, while also providing 46 assists.

Man City and Arsenal both view Bryan Mbeumo as a potential attacking option

Man City are currently in need of another striker to provide competition for Erling Haaland after selling Julian Alvarez in the summer.

Arsenal are also in the market to try and sign a striker as this is an area of the pitch Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen.

The two Premier League rivals do face competition in trying to sign Mbeumo, who Brentford initially bought for just less than £5million.

Mbeumo has made an impressive start to the 2024-25 campaign, having scored three goals in as many games for Brentford in the Premier League.

The Bees currently sit sixth in the table after the opening three games and will face Man City on 14 September.
