'Bad luck' - Pundit gutted as 'Exciting' Tottenham ace struck down by injury

Paul Robinson only has sympathy for Wilson Odobert after undergoing surgery on a new injury at Tottenham.

Spurs confirmed via their official X account [17 November] that the 19-year-old underwent surgery on his hamstring, having been sidelined since the 1-0 win over AZ Alkmaar on 24 October.

The winger only has two Premier League starts to his name since arriving on a £25million deal in the summer [BBC Sport], but after bringing a bright spark to Hotspur Way, Robinson is remaining patient with the player.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: “There’s nothing you can do, it’s just bad luck. Injuries are part and parcel of being a football. There is always going to be pressure on you when you come with a price tag and expectation.

“If you pick up two injuries in quick succession, there’s nothing you can do. I’ve not looked at his injury record at his previous clubs but it’s just unfortunate. Yes, it’s frustrating, but because he had such a bright start when he arrived.

“He and Brennan Johnson are two exciting, quick wingers, who want to take their full-back on and get in on the outside. I suspect that he’s the most frustrated out of everyone.”

Spurs have continued to falter in the Premier League, with unexpected losses to Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town, and supporters are crying out for a new attacking outlet.

Fans will, of course, remain patient with the youngster as he begins his journey back to full fitness, and they will be hoping that he returns better than ever and makes the winger position his own.

In other Tottenham news, Spurs’ stance on Ange Postecoglou’s sacking has been shared after what has happened recently.
