Boyd shares his Rangers 'Worry' live on Sky ahead of Nice match

Kris Boyd said he is worried for Rangers domestically as he spoke ahead of the Europa League clash with Nice.

The Gers are set to face the French outfit on Thursday (28 November) with the aim of securing a third win in Europe so far this season.

This form on the continent is not reflective of their showings in Scotland, which have left Boyd frustrated as he voiced his concern live on Sky Sports News (28 November, 7:28pm).

He said: “It’s not been good enough for Rangers. They have that League Cup final to look forward to with Celtic in a couple of weeks, but they’re 11 points behind Celtic is one thing, but the amount they’re behind Aberdeen as well is a worry for Rangers.

“The first 45 minutes last weekend [against Dundee United] was as poor as I’ve seen from Rangers. I can only see the gap getting bigger right now but maybe they can drag Aberdeen in and take second place.”

The Gers head into a clash against the French side in need of a positive result after topsy-turvy form in recent weeks under Philippe Clement.

This has seen criticism of the Belgian cool off although there is still an expectation from supporters that he may be sacked in the coming weeks.

It will certainly do his job prospects at Ibrox the world of good if he can secure a win away to Nice, which could send the Gers into the top eight of the Europa League.

This would certainly represent a success story for the Govan club on the continent considering the level of competition they are facing in the tournament.

This won’t necessarily take away from the frustrations that fans are feeling around the manager with their side sitting 11 points behind their Old Firm rivals.

There is no surprise that frustration is building but a win away in France could provide a massive boost to prospects in the Scottish Premiership.
