Casemiro shares four-word verdict on Man United win v Rangers at Murrayfield

Manchester United star Casemiro has shared his verdict on Instagram of his side’s win over Rangers at Murrayfield on Saturday.

The decorated Brazilian posted on his official account [20 July] to sum up his thoughts on the 2-0 victory for United against Philippe Clement’s Gers.

Alongside the two images shared to his 22.4million followers on the platform, the 32-year-old captioned: “Good test in Scotland!”

Casemiro lined up for the first half in Edinburgh alongside several other of Erik ten Hag’s first-team squad, before a young side faced the Light Blues after the break.

Work remains for Rangers in pre-season

With pre-season tests still to come for Rangers against Birmingham City and Union Berlin, in less than a fortnight the team are back in Edinburgh to face Hearts in the Scottish Premiership curtain raiser.

With Clement, Nils Koppen and the Gers board working hard behind the scenes to strengthen the squad, the fact that options still look pretty bare in some areas shows the magnitude of their summer task.

Granted, Clement knows his team won’t be coming across fully fledged internationals like Casemiro, Mason Mount and Jadon Sancho every week north of the border, but fans have noticed a glaring lack of firepower and not enough depth in certain positions.

Further incomings will arrive – possibly supplemented by extra outgoings – as Clement and Koppen look to strike a balance between new recruits and stability in the dressing room from last campaign.

This would likely be the best reason for keeping hold of captain James Tavernier, for example – a man wanted by several clubs abroad with Gers in the precarious situation of knowing this summer will be their last chance to recoup a high sum.
