Celtic fans love what Rangers’ Europa League opponents Malmo have posted via their official social media channels in the buildup to their game.

The Swedish outfit took to their social channels in the buildup to Thursday’s clash as they posted a throwback video to their last two meetings alongside the caption: “Welcome back to Malmo, Rangers. We’ve missed you.”

First, their Champions League clashes from the 2011-12 season were recalled, which saw Rangers knocked out 2-1 on aggregate, with the caption: “You ended up in the fourth division.”

This reference to the club’s financial crisis in 2012 left Celtic fans in hysterics in the replies as they saluted the Swedish club’s antics.

Rangers fans, meanwhile, were left raging at the post as they demanded Philippe Clement’s side turn up for the game despite their previous record.

Celtic supporters have often mocked Rangers for what happened to the club in 2012, and they are now being trolled by their Europa League opponents ahead of their upcoming clash.

The Ibrox club will face Malmo on 26 September after failing to qualify for the Champions League, just a week after Brendan Rodgers’ side recorded a 5-1 victory in Europe’s Premier competition.

Rangers were eliminated from the Champions League qualifying stage after a 3-1 aggregate defeat to Dynamo Kyiv after Celtic pipped them to the title and automatic qualification last season.

After Rodgers’ side got them off to a perfect start in the competition, their rivals will face a tough test against Malmo in the Europa League.

With the Swedish club taking to social media to troll their rivals, Celtic fans have found the buildup hilarious and will be supporting them in Thursday’s clash.
