Celtic fans stunned as 'shocking' footage v Rangers re-analysed

Celtic fans were left fuming during their Old Firm victory against Rangers at Ibrox after Kyogo Furuhashi saw a goal disallowed in controversial fashion.

Brendan Rodgers’ side cruised to an emphatic 3-0 victory in the season’s first Glasgow Derby, but the game was not without its drama.

Celtic thought they’d found a breakthrough shortly after ten minutes when Nicolas Kuhn saw his cross turned in by Kyogo.

However, the goal was disallowed by one of the tightest offside calls in recent memory as the German winger was ruled offside by his shoulder.

Replays of the VAR decision showed just how close the call was, with the two lines drawn by VAR official Andrew Dallas overlapping.

As a result, fans have questioned the call, and were left fuming as their opening goal was disallowed – despite the eventual comfortable scoreline.

Goals from Kyogo, Daizen Maeda and Callum McGregor saw the game play out as many had expected beforehand, with Celtic the favourites going into the clash at Parkhead.

However, the usual controversy surrounding big decisions in the Old Firm followed, and supporters were not happy with what they saw.

Following the decision to disallow the goal, fans took to social media in frustration as the call was labelled “diabolical” and “pathetic”, while one insisted “VAR is ruining football”.
