Chris Jack: Questions mount on Philippe Clement after 'Dreadful' Rangers draw

Philippe Clement faces mounting questions at Ibrox after Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw by Dundee United on Saturday, according to Chris Jack.

The Light Blues bottled the chance to close the gap further to Aberdeen, who lost to St. Mirren in their corresponding fixture, after dropping two points against the Terrors on 23 November.

Assessing the game on Rangers Review, Jack dubbed the Gers “dreadful” and pointed out the increasing doubts over Clement’s future.

Rangers must sack Philippe Clement now

Rangers have been reluctant to sack Clement amid the absence of a permanent chairman and a CEO [Ludo Vandewalle].

However, there is no reason why the Glasgow giants should delay the decision to sack the Belgian tactician further.

A win against Hearts on 23 November would see Celtic go 11 points clear of them at the top of the Scottish Premiership table and it is unacceptable under any circumstances.

It should only be a matter of time before the Gers have a new chairman and a CEO in place, but there is no reason for the club to wait until then to fire Clement.

Derek McInnes has been mooted as the ideal candidate to replace Clement by many and it is something the Light Blues must consider at the moment.

In an ideal world, Belgium would pay Rangers a compensation fee to take the 50-year-old off their hands after he emerged as an option to replace Domenico Tedesco, but that does not seem like happening.

In other Rangers news, James Tavernier is mooted to end his Ibrox stint next year after what was said recently.
