'Clement is talking nonsense' - Pundit now 'Fed Up' after what he's hearing from Rangers

Kris Boyd has slammed Philippe Clement for his excuses as Rangers failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Gers lost to Dynamo Kyiv and that meant that they did not secure a spot in the group stages of Europe’s elite club competition.

Clement stated that until Jefte was sent off, his side were the better team, implying that was the reason for them getting knocked out.

Boyd wrote in the Scottish Sun: “I’m sorry, I’d still sick fed up with the noises coming from Rangers these days.

“It’s become an environment of excuses and I’m not having it.

“Losing Jefte five minutes into the second-half against Dynamo Kyiv was a massive moment, sure it was. And it definitely shouldn’t have been a second yellow!

“But let’s not be kidded, Philippe Clement is talking nonsense when he says Rangers were the better team up until that point.”

Philippe Clement needs to make Rangers better

Clement’s assertion that Gers were the better team until Jefte’s red card against Dynamo Kyiv, while true in part, overlooks broader issues.

Accountability starts with acknowledging that, despite the red card, the team’s performance across both legs should have been more robust.

The Belgian needs to shift the narrative from external factors to internal improvements and now knows he cannot rely on a potential Champions League payday.

This involves critically assessing team tactics, player selection and preparation.

By focusing on what can be controlled, Clement can foster a culture of responsibility where results are not contingent on the absence of misfortune but on the presence of superior performance.

This turnaround requires the man in charge to lead with a clear vision, demanding excellence from his players and staff, thereby rebuilding trust with fans and stakeholders who expect proactive solutions, not just reactions to setbacks.

In other Rangers news, the Gers have received a significant boost ahead of the 30 August deadline as an international midfielder has handed in a transfer request as he wants a move to Ibrox.
