Clement reveals how he's treating his Rangers players after win v Kilmarnock

Philippe Clement won’t let his Rangers players relax despite their 6-0 win against Kilmarnock.

The Gers made it five wins from their last seven games thanks to a thrashing at Ibrox on Wednesday night (4 December).

Regardless of the result and a positive run of form, the Light Blues boss isn’t settling and will continue to push his side as fixtures continue to come and go.

Speaking after the Kille win, transcribed by the Heart and Hand Podcast via X, Clement said: “I am pushing really hard in the dressing room to create a culture that becomes better every day and to win every three days.

“But I don’t want them relaxing now and thinking ‘Oh we got our reward so we can stop’. I will keep pushing.”

It has been a much better few weeks in Govan after a period of high pressure built around the manager after the defeat against Aberdeen.

The Gers still remain 11 points behind Celtic but have cut the gap to the Dons to four points with second place currently the goal at Ibrox.

A 6-0 win at home will certainly do Clement’s side the world of good during a busy period with a clash against Tottenham coming before an Old Firm derby.

As a result, this result was very important but can’t represent a chance for the Light Blues to take their foot off the gas because games aren’t going to get any easier.

It is certainly positive to hear the under-pressure manager speak out in this fashion to remind his players that nothing has been achieved yet this season.

It would be a concern if the Belgian was treating his players any differently but after three games in a week, he could have been lenient but he clearly wants to win and continue to get better.
