Bryan King believes it would be a mistake for Everton to sack Sean Dyche.
The ex-Goodison scout has urged the Toffees to allow the 53-year-old to manage the football club.
It comes after the i reported (22 October) that the Friedkin Group are not thought likely to get rid of Dyche straightaway once they complete a takeover at Goodison Park.
Industry sources believe it would cost the Friedkins around £50million to make a managerial change and find money to support the team.
And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – doesn’t think a change is necessary.
“Sacking Dyche would be the wrong thing to do,” King said.
“Common sense should prevail here. At the moment, they’re beginning to pick up points and they’re not playing bad football.
“If Dyche can keep them in the Premier League again then it sets them up well for next season. Everton are picking up points, Dyche is the manager so let him manage.
“It is points that keep the club in the league, not financial groups.”
The Friedkin Group to stand by Sean Dyche at Everton?
Everton are unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches, picking up eight points in that time. Therefore, any talk of sacking Dyche at this moment would be unwarranted.
There was pressure on the manager this season after an incredibly shaky start to the campaign. However, now that Everton seem to have found some form, the Englishman must be left to manage.
Speculation surrounding his future can’t be helpful for Dyche when there is already enough uncertainty at the club, despite positive takeover progress.
Dyche has kept the Toffees in the Premier League since arriving at Goodison Park. Therefore, there is no reason he won’t do it again this season.
