'Could you imagine?': Darren Bent has serious 'reservations' about news coming out of Liverpool this week

Liverpool continued their winning start to the Premier League season today but prior to that win, Darren Bent had been reacting to some potentially big news from the club.

The Reds have made a super start to life under Arne Slot and have won all but one of their Premier League fixtures so far this term.

For Liverpool fans, it’s been great to see such a smooth transition between the Jurgen Klopp era and Arne Slot taking over.

However, while things are going well on the field right now, the future is something of a concern, particularly when it comes to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract.

Liverpool are believed to be confident that Trent signs fresh terms. But with a link to Real Madrid there as well, Reds fans will be worried.

And according to Darren Bent, Trent would indeed slot right in in Madrid.

Darren Bent reacts to Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid rumours

Speaking on TalkSPORT about the potential for Trent to move to Spain with Real Madrid, Bent assessed the situation.

And while he suggested Alexander-Arnold would fit in well with Madrid, he also feels the defender’s loyalty to the Reds will count for a lot.

“I think that’s the only place he would want to go, Real Madrid, on the planet. I mean, Real Madrid just seems to be, and why would you now want to play for that team with that manager with some of those players? Could you imagine him playing in that team?,” Bent said.

“He’s Liverpool through and through. That’s why I have got reservations as to whether he will go to Real Madrid or stay at Liverpool.”

Whether or not Trent signs a new deal, remains to be seen.

Liverpool have also got Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah’s futures to deal with as well, with all three needing sorting by 2025.
