Postecoglou sack: Odds slashed for Tottenham exit after shock v Forest

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is now favourite to be the next Premier League manager to be sacked after the loss to Nottingham Forest.

The 6-3 defeat to Liverpool last weekend (22 December) saw the Australian fall from 12/1 to 3/1 with William Hill.

The defeat at the City Ground (26 December) has seen the odds plummet even further and Postecoglou has now overtaken West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui.

The former Celtic man is now 5/4 with BetVictor to be the next manager to be given his marching orders in the English top flight.

Tottenham could sack Postecoglou

The North Londoners find themselves in 11th place in the Premier League, ten points off of the top four, having lost four of their last five league matches.

It must be acknowledged that Spurs are without three key players in their backline in Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero.

However, Postecoglou’s refusal to adopt a more pragmatic approach, as a result, has not done him any favours.

Instead, the Australian has stuck to his attacking principles and still has his team playing out from the back and far too open despite not having the personnel to do so.

In the Forest match, for the only goal of the contest, Morgan Gibbs-White was given too much space as he drove through the defence and then found Anthony Elanga who slotted past Fraser Forster.

If results do not improve rapidly the Lilywhites will likely be looking for a new manager as we head into the new year.
