'Crackers' – Alan Brazil reacts to what he has seen about Rangers games live on air today

Alan Brazil says Rangers have two “crackers” against Tottenham and Manchester United to look forward to in the Europa League.

Speaking with Ally McCoist on talkSPORT (19 September, 9:48 am), Brazil said he hadn’t realised the Gers were set to face the Premier League pair in upcoming European matches.

Philippe Clement’s side are slated to host Spurs at Ibrox on 12 December before heading to Old Trafford on 23 January, in their sixth and seventh matches of the competition’s new league phase.

Brazil said: “Thinking about Rangers – I didn’t realise Rangers have got Manchester United, and Spurs at home? There’s two crackers by the way.”

Rangers must be ready to face Premier League sides in Europe

By the time mid-December comes around and Spurs pitch up at Ibrox, Clement’s side will have been in the thick of things for multiple months and the Belgian could be under pressure to deliver results.

With almost three months to go until the Light Blues face back-to-back games against English opposition, there will be hope that Clement’s new-look squad will be thoroughly gelled together by then.

Trips to Malmo, Olympiacos and Nice await in the meantime, as does hosting Lyon and FCSB, and Clement must ensure that his side are fit and firing to continue the club’s good record on the continent.

A whole host of new arrivals in the summer are yet to really make their marks, but with the likes of Hamza Igamane pressing hard for a starting place, the Gers’ first-choice XI could soon look wildly different.

The Christmas period is shaping up to be season-defining for Clement and his players with Spurs, Celtic and Manchester United all to play, and the Belgian must make sure his side are ready for these ‘crackers’.

In other Rangers news, Kris Boyd has told the his former side to be “worried” about new developments at a rival Premiership club.
