Cundy astonished by ‘Embarrassing’ Tottenham stat he was told by O’Hara live on air

Jason Cundy was gobsmacked when Jamie O’Hara told him that Tottenham have lost nine Premier League games so far this season.

Tottenham fell to defeat once again on Boxing Day with Nottingham Forest securing a 1-0 win at the City Ground leading to rightful criticism of players.

The defeat means that Spurs are now 10 points away from the top four with pressure growing on Ange Postecoglou for what has been a dismal season.

It was the ninth time Spurs have tasted league defeat this season, a tally only worsened by Wolves, Leicester and Southampton with ex-Spurs midfielder O’Hara clearly embarrassed when speaking live on talkSPORT (26 December, 10:18 pm).

“We’re losing every week now, it’s embarrassing,” explained O’Hara. “We’ve lost nine games this season in the Premier League, nine.

To which Sports Bar co-host Cundy replied: “It’s astonishing isn’t it, it’s terrible. It can’t carry on.”

Tottenham need a change urgently

Life under Postecoglou just isn’t going how many had forecasted and if Spurs don’t make a change, things will only get worse. That goes for things on the pitch and off of it with the atmosphere already showing signs of growing toxicity.

It’s hard to make a case against that, with Postecoglou’s stubbornness costing Spurs almost daily with his lack of a plan B and unwillingness to adapt given the scenario they find themselves in.

You can’t help but feel some sympathy for the Spurs boss given the amount of injuries he has had to deal with this season, but his reluctance to accept that his way of playing can’t be as effective in those circumstances is what is singlehandedly costing them this season.

Asking players like Fraser Forster to adapt his play style overnight to suit what Postecgolou wants and then acting surprised when it doesn’t pay off is criminal.

Who would Spurs turn to if they sack Postecoglou? Who knows, but there are definitely more viable candidates out there with a better chance of achieving success this season.
