Dani Olmo: The RB Leipzig and Spain star shining at Euro 2024
RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo has had to be patient for his chance to show his mettle on the national stage with Spain. The 26-year-old is now taking full advantage of his chances at Euro 2024. Ahead of the final in Berlin, bundesliga.com looks at Olmo's importance.
"We are very close now, one step away from glory," said a proud Olmo to reporters shortly after full-time at the Allianz Arena. He has made something of a habit of producing masterclass after masterclass at the home of Bayern Munich.
With three goals and two assists at Euro 2024, Olmo has been the talk of the town around Germany and indeed far beyond. Those goal contributions have come at the perfect time for him and La Roja coach Luis de la Fuente, who has been at the helm in a period of transition for the Spanish national team.
After starting on the bench for Spain's first two games, Olmo has come to life in the knockout stages, with match-winning displays against the hosts Germany in the quarters and Didier Deschamps' France in the semi-final.
