'Deal to be done' - Wenham: PSG could subsidise wages to allow duo to join Tottenham on loan

Tottenham have been urged to sign Paris Saint-Germain duo Randal Kolo Muani and Milan Škriniar on loan in January.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are expected to “definitely” sign a new centre-back in January, and according to Gazzetta [17 December], Škriniar is a potential option.

Meanwhile, the centre-back’s PSG teammate Kolo Munai is expected to be offered to several clubs on loan in January, including Spurs’ North London rivals Arsenal [via The Standard, 24 December].

Therefore, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t see any reason why Spurs shouldn’t sign both players next month.

“If they are both available, those are the kind of players we should be targeting,” Wenham said.

“They might not be getting into the PSG team, but that is because they have so many superstars battling for positions at that club. These two players could potentially be the difference in us getting over the line in the Carabao Cup or Europa League.

“It was only 18 months ago that Kolo Munai was scoring an incredible amount of goals in the Bundesliga with Frankfurt. PSG paid a substantial amount of money for him, and if he is available on loan, Tottenham should absolutely be putting themselves forward.

“As for Škriniar, he is a hugely experienced player who would also improve us. I’m not interested in Spurs insisting that the wages are too much. If these two players have been made available, there is a deal to be done there. PSG obviously want them out the door and I’m sure they would be willing to subsidise the wages.”

If Spurs could bring both of these players to North London, it would be huge for the club and Postecoglou.

While they’re struggling to make an impact under Luis Enrique in Paris, these are two quality players who could add a lot to Tottenham in the second half of the season.

Therefore, if Daniel Levy is serious, the chairman should be doing everything in his power to attract these kinds of players, especially considering the pressure he is under.

And while the wages might prove costly, there is no excuse for Spurs not to sign those high-profile players with Levy continuing to line up big paydays in North London.

In other Tottenham news, Postecoglou will be sacked despite what one supporter said.
