DFL confirms dates and kick-off times for first two matchdays in 2024/25 Bundesliga 2 season

The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga has announced the dates and kick off times for the first two rounds of fixtures in Bundesliga 2 for 2024/25.

As announced when the full fixture lists were released on 4 July, the second division will open with Cologne against Hamburg on Friday, 2 August (8.30pm CEST). The other fixtures across Matchday 1 and 2 have now also been scheduled.

Promoted Ulm return to Bundesliga 2 with a home game against Kaiserslautern on Sunday, 4 August (1.30pm), at the same time as Preußen Münster mark their comeback at this level away at Greuther Fürth. The third promoted side, Jahn Regensburg, kick off their campaign away at Hannover on Saturday, 3 August (1pm).

The first Saturday night fixture of 2024/25 sees Schalke host Eintracht Braunschweig at 8.30pm.

The following week, HSV host Hertha Berlin in that slot (10 August), while newcomers Regensburg and Ulm meet on Friday, 9 August (6.30pm). Among Saturday afternoon’s kick-offs is Nuremberg against Schalke (1pm).

From Matchday 2 onwards, Bundesliga 2 will have two games played on a Friday evening, four on a Saturday and three on a Sunday.

The next set of kick-off times for the Bundesliga (MD1-5) and Bundesliga 2 (MD3-7) are set to be announced next week (15-19 July).
