Arsenal’s drive to bring some money in for bit-part players could kick into gear in the coming weeks with one player apparently keen on pushing through an exit.
The Gunners know that to keep adding to the squad that there needs to be some outgoings as well.
The last few windows have seen Arsenal spend big money on a number of players but in return, there’s been little in the way of big fees received.
That is set to change this summer as Arsenal look to offload players. Eddie Nketiah is in talks to join Marseille, while Reiss Nelson is another fringe player likely to depart.
Another player on that list is homegrown midfielder, Emile Smith Rowe.
Crystal Palace are thought to be keen on Smith Rowe and are pushing to get a deal done.
And speaking about Smith Rowe and Palace, Fabrizio Romano has suggested it’s very much a deal that could happen.
Emile Smith Rowe would be open to signing for Crystal Palace
Speaking to GiveMeSport about the situation surrounding Smith Rowe and a potential Arsenal exit, Romano has said that Crystal Palace believe the midfielder does want the move.
“Smith Rowe, after the bid was rejected by Arsenal from Fulham in recent days, now a bid is also coming from Crystal Palace. Oliver Glasner wants to bring Emile Smith Rowe to Crystal Palace,” Romano said.
“He is really convinced that it’d be an important signing for their project, so the bid is coming from Palace for Smith Rowe.
“They also believe the player could be keen on the move, discussions have taken place, and so Palace are expected to bid for him. Let’s see what Arsenal will decide, because he remains an important player for Mikel Arteta.”
Arsenal reportedly want around £40m to even consider the sale of Smith Rowe and it remains to be seen if Palace will pay that.
But with Michael Olise gone for big money and Ebere Eze potentially set to follow, Palace may have money to splash.
