Rangers have been slammed for the 1-0 defeat against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on 26 October Four Lads Had a Dream’s Stevie Clifford.
Marley Watkins’ 87th-minute goal handed yet another defeat to Philippe Clement’s side who are now six points clear off the top of the league.
Clifford wants to see a change and does not want any more “disgraceful” performances from the Ibrox outfit.
He wrote in the Rangers Review: “On Sunday, Rangers were slow, lethargic, wasteful and had a lack of desire.
“That translates into negative and passive football, the press is out of shape and at times we look very wasteful. Fast forward a couple of days and Rangers had a desire, they had a purpose and they won the fight and won the right to play.
“The main word in now confirmation, these players (as much as the management) must seek consistency but the application and desire must also be upheld as it was against Bucharest. The disgraceful performance at Rugby Park and that standard of application can’t ever be repeated again.”
Philippe Clement needs to quickly get a tune out of the Rangers players
Clement’s tenure at Ibrox is under scrutiny following a series of underwhelming performances, with the recent defeat against Kilmarnock highlighting the urgency for change.
Adapting to the high-pressure environment at Ibrox, where immediate success is not just desired but demanded, presents unique challenges and he’s got to show if he’s up for it.
The Belgian’s approach has been to assess and adapt quickly, leveraging the squad’s capabilities for prompt improvements rather than relying on extensive transfer windows.
Yet, the current dissatisfaction among fans suggests that even with his track record, the pressure is on Clement to swiftly turn around Rangers’ fortunes.
If the team continues to falter, particularly in key matches, the board might consider his ability to meet the expectations in question, potentially leading to his dismissal if results do not improve rapidly.
Six points is already a significant gap and if things get worse, the board could make the decision of sacking him during the international break.
In other Rangers, it has been confirmed that Gers made a good offer to sign a player and even held talks with his agent.
