Jarrad Branthwaite may not be ready to play the full 90 minutes for Everton against Southampton on 2 November at St Mary’s, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that while he did make an appearance off the bench against Fulham on 26 October, he may not yet be at 100 per cent.
It’s important that the club takes a cautious approach as he could suffer another setback that could mean another spell on the sidelines.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Branthwaite: “Having an injury right after your first game after returning from injury is certainly not ideal but it’s also not unsurprising.
“His body is still adapting to game demands and that comes with the risk of injury.
“The key way to be combat is it continue to be methodical with his return.
“The positive is that he came off the bench on Saturday, but he still may not be ready for the full 90 minutes.”
Everton cannot afford to lose Jarrad Branthwaite again
The Toffees cannot afford to lose Branthwaite again as he’s their best player and a rock in defence for Sean Dyche.
His importance to the team cannot be put into words and Dyche would not want him to be missing for weeks together.
Hopefully, he can start and maybe play 60 minutes against Southampton as he gradually builds up his fitness.
In other Everton news, a director at a big-name European club is likely to join the Toffees board post The Friedkin Group takeover.
