The Friedkin Group’s takeover of Everton remains on track and the process is currently out of their control, according to Ben Jacobs.
The journalist and broadcaster posted on his X account [26 October] to reassure Toffees fans that up to now, no unexpected issues have arisen.
Dan Friedkin hopes to have regained the controlling stake from Farhad Moshiri by December.
Jacobs shared: “Approvals for the Everton takeover by The Friedkin Group [TFG] remain on track.
“Hope for completion by mid-December, but no more specific date yet because elements of the process are out of TFG’s control. No issues to date.”
Everton anticipate full Dan Friedkin completion soon
Slowly but surely, it all appears to be coming together for Everton after months and years of boardroom chaos.
They are not yet out of the woods and fans will understandably remain apprehensive until the full process is boxed off, looking to meet that mid-December target.
Leadenhall – who filed lawsuits against 777 Partners and A-Cap – appear to be content with letting completion of the Friedkin deal with Moshiri go ahead, which will be a relief.
Should all go to plan, Friedkin – who is suggested to be open to getting “local knowledge” onboard in the shape of Andy Bell and George Downing – could be expected to help strengthen Sean Dyche’s squad and secure survival.
Premier League football at Bramley-Moore Dock next season is a must, and Friedkin is already intending to buy more land around the stadium site to make the area an Everton powerhouse [The Athletic, 25 October].
The sooner this takeover officially goes through, the better for all concerned.
In other Everton news, Theo Walcott has had particular plaudits for one Toffees star.
