Tottenham star sends message to Everton player after what he did v Fulham

Destiny Udogie sent a message to Beto after the Everton striker scored a crucial equaliser against Fulham on Saturday (26 October).

The 26-year-old has struggled during his time on Merseyside and having not scored in the Premier League since March, his entrance against the Cottagers was greeted by moans at Goodison Park.

However, nearly with the last kick of the game, Beto helped Sean Dyche’s side to salvage a point in a 1-1 draw, heading home in the fourth minute of added time and was clearly emotional at full-time.

Reacting to the player’s Instagram post on Sunday (27 October) after the draw, Udogie commented emojis of rock climbers.

Beto heroics save Everton in Fulham draw

The Toffees were staring down the barrel of defeat against Fulham, that was until Dyche took the punt to replace Dominic Calvert-Lewin with Beto with 10 minutes remaining.

Unsurprisingly, the change was greeted with moans from the crowd, given how little the Merseyside club threatened against the Cottagers, but it seemed to pay off in the end.

Due to his poor form at Goodison Park, Beto has been linked with a move back to Serie A with Roma [Il Messaggero], but the striker made it abundantly clear that he wants to thrive on Merseyside.

When the full-time whistle blew, he was unable to fight back the tears as he was lauded by the Goodison Park faithful, and rightly so, because it has been a tough journey for him so far.

Having been at Udinese together, it is no surprise to see Udogie supporting his former teammate, and it seems to be the exact reaction the striker needed after his crucial moment against Fulham.

Calvert-Lewin is unlikely to lose his spot in the starting XI but Dyche will hope that Beto can be relied upon a lot more after his moment in the spotlight.
