Doctor: Player likely to take time to adapt to English game as Tottenham signed new attacker

Tottenham summer signing Yang Min-Hyeok will face a higher risk of injury initially as he’ll need a while to adapt to life in England, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the club will have to set up a proper fitness plan in order to minimise the risk of setbacks.

On 28 July, Spurs announced that an agreement has reached with K League 1 side Gangwon FC for the 18-year-old South Korean winger and will officially join in January 2025.

Discussing the state of play with Min-Hyeok exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

“The keys for him to settle properly in England will be getting him comfortable physically through proper fitness planning and bounce minutes but it will take some time so a higher risk of injury initially.

“Mentally, allowing him to adapt gradually to a completely new environment, city, weather, pressure, and methodology will be critical.

“His future teammate and countryman Son Heung-min could be a big help in Yang’s adaptation.“

Tottenham can expect Min-Hyeok to bring youthful dynamism and flair to their squad.

His performances in the K League 1 have showcased his ability to score and assist, suggesting he could become a key player in the future.

However, it will be important to balance expectations as he’s unlikely to be a first-team regularly for the next two seasons.
