Rangers attacking midfielder Tom Lawrence’s injury is understood to be worse than initially expected, according to Dr Rajpal Brar
The injury expert claims that Philippe Clement’s comments initially did not suggest that it was a major setback.
However, the fact that he’s likely to be unavailable until mid-December suggests that the Belgian got it wrong initially at Ibrox.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “This is a difficult one to read into because at first, the manager said it could be quite bad because of how it happened but then isn’t sure if the player would be available for the next week.
“That wouldn’t indicate a major injury but this also might mean they aren’t quite sure of the full extent of the injury yet and the manager was playing coy.
“However, the fact is that he’s unlikely to be back before mid-December tells you this one is worse than first expected.“
Tom Lawrence injury hell at Rangers
Lawrence will be hoping that he’s not fallen into yet another injury cycle at Ibrox after what happened last season.
The 30-year-old had muscle injury issues that persisted, and he was out of action for weeks in the 2023/24 campaign.
This term, he has been contributing regularly in the final third, scoring three goals and providing two assists in eight league games.
In other Rangers news, Dave King is pushing for this manager to replace Philippe Clement at Ibrox.
