Doctor View: Rangers player at risk of failing medical if needed as Ibrox exit news emerges

Rangers attacker Tom Lawrence faces a risk of failing his medical if any outliers show up amid his injury history, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the Wales international’s number of games missed per season due o his fitness is continuing to go up.

This comes after Fanatik reported on 12 June that the 30-year-old wants to quit and reunite with Giovanni van Bronckhorst at Besiktas.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

“It is certainly a difficult case to make for a club to sign him this summer since not only has he missed matches but that number has continued to go up.

“My advice to a club would be to bake that into his transfer value and make sure he’s just a depth option.

“My advice to him would be to continue to keep working hard on his fitness and habits, taking it day by day.

“There may be some outliers that could see him failing a medical.“

Gers must consider selling Lawrence at the right price due to his injury-prone history and inconsistent form since joining the club.

Despite showing early promise, the Wales international has struggled to maintain fitness and contribute consistently, which has hampered the club’s performance.

Selling him could free up resources to bring in a more reliable and impactful player.

Additionally, if a good offer comes in, it would allow the Ibrox outfit to get more to manoeuvre in the market.
