Sean Dyche is in “desperate need” of a new forward at Everton as Beto could follow Dominic Calvert-Lewin out of Goodison Park in 2025, TBR Football reports.
According to the news outlet’s website [17 December], Beto is heading towards a January exit, and Calvert-Lewin has no intention of extending his contract at Goodison Park beyond the summer.
The Blues boss is not prepared to rest on his laurels and is showing a strong admiration for Rangers forward Hamza Igamane after scouts left Ibrox “very impressed” with his performance in the 1-1 draw against Tottenham in the Europa League.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto could leave Everton in January
While Goodison News understands that Beto remains a part of Dyche’s plans as things stand, he has struggled for minutes on Merseyside this season.
Furthermore, the 26-year-old is expected to be at the centre of a Serie A domino effect, with Inter Milan expressing interest in bringing the forward back to Italy after Torino turned their attention to I Nerazzurri striker Marko Arnautovic after ending their interest in Beto.
Dyche could be left with Chelsea loanee Armando Broja as his only senior forward option heading into the business end of the season unless drastic action is taken.
The TBR Football report further adds fuel to the fire that Calvert-Lewin will end his eight-year spell on Merseyside after BBC Sport reported on 27 November that the 27-year-old is showing “no inclination” to extend his deal.
However, the wantaway pair have only combined for three Premier League goals this term, with Michael Keane’s two goals matching Calvert-Lewin and bettering Beto’s output.
Therefore, it is in the Blues’ best interests to see the forwards leave. The Friedkin Group are prepared to oversee an extensive squad overhaul in the upcoming transfer windows ahead of a new Everton era [TEAMtalk].
Igamane has been tearing through the Europa League at Rangers and could replicate his efforts on Merseyside in 2025 and beyond.
In other Everton news, Dan Friedkin needs to avoid a huge mistake amid emerging Blues transfer news.
