Fenerbahce want to sign Everton forward Beto on loan after failing to land Youssef En-Nesyri, according to Sozcu.

The Turkish website reported on Friday (July 12) that Fenerbahce prefer a loan deal for the 26-year-old striker, but Everton would rather sell if he is to leave.

The Yellow Canaries shifted their focus to Beto, who scored five goals and made two assists in 37 matches last season, after refusing to pay over £20million for En-Nesyri, who is now likely to join Al Qadsiah in a £21million twist.

Beto joined Everton from Udinese for around £21m last year with the Toffees and Fenerbahce now negotiating the terms of his potential move.

Is Beto likely to leave Everton?

Speculation about Everton’s summer departures have been rampant, but the club’s mood has shifted positively with new signings.

As the takeover progresses, the Toffees have already welcomed new players like Iliman Ndiaye and Tim Iroegbunam to the club, while Jack Harrison is back for another season on loan.

However, this positivity may soon require balancing with necessary sales. Among potential exits, Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future seems most uncertain due to his expiring contract and interest from top Premier League clubs.

If Calvert-Lewin leaves, Sean Dyche will rely heavily on Beto and Youssef Chermiti. Despite Fenerbahce’s documented interest in Beto, the Toffees might have to keep the striker at Goodison Park as a backup option.

Nonetheless, the choice between keeping Beto or Calvert-Lewin presents Dyche with a dilemma.

Calvert-Lewin’s experience and style might be preferred, but his contract situation makes Beto a more sensible financial choice for the future.
