Sevilla are the latest club to be linked with a move for Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin ahead of the January transfer window, according to Fichajes.

Calvert-Lewin’s future remains up in the air at Goodison Park despite reports claiming The Friedkin Group want him to remain on Merseyside (TEAMtalk) with Sevilla keen on acquiring his services ahead of the upcoming transfer window according to Fichajes (23 December).

Fiorentina have also expressed an interest in signing the 27-year-old (Di Marzio) who has struggled for form at Everton under Sean Dyche.

It is thought that his arrival could be completed without “huge investment” with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

The report adds that his future looks “increasingly distant” from Goodison Park.

Everton need to make their decision on Calvert-Lewin

If the Toffees’ intentions are to keep their striker, it will be vital that they agree on terms ahead of January with the 27-year-old then able to seek a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs ahead of a free move in the summer.

On the other hand, if their intentions are to offload him, a sale in January will make sense as it will at least see an influx of cash which could prove crucial in their bid to strengthen their squad.

Whichever way the club are to go, they need to make that decision imminently and can’t afford to let the uncertainty drag through the window as it may have a telling impact on not only his performances but the atmosphere at the club.

Calvert-Lewin was disappointing against Chelsea as TFG began their era on Merseyside and that showing may have swayed their stance on his future one way.

January will undoubtedly provide an interesting prospect in terms of both incomings and outgoings.
